I am honored and extremely proud to introduce to you the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, University of Khartoum. The Faculty was established in 1950s as a college that awarded Diploma in Nursing, with the contribution of the WHO. The main objective was to graduate female nurses well equipped for both preventive and curative nursing to be part of the health team to ensure the maximum health benefits to individuals and community at large. Since then many marvelous developments occurred. The college was upgraded to a faculty that awards Bachelor degree in Nursing Sciences and later, Master and PhD by courses and research.The Faculty is proud of its contribution to Nursing in the country and the region.
The leading role of the graduates of the Faculty in provision of high quality nursing at health institutes and the community is well recognized. Our outstanding graduates contributed to the development of nursing in the region and their reputation in the Arab World is well known. The Faculty is considered as a model to the new nursing colleges in the country and our staff was involved in the development of the curricula.To our students: on your path through the Faculty experience, let no obstacle - great or small - stand in your way. You will learn new things with others as a team - who will likely have different perspectives - which strengthen your learning abilities. The key to your success is the ability to open doors, think differently and be innovative, treat your colleagues as peers and your teachers as models.
